Creativity can manifest in all kinds of ways, and take its form as a host of mediums.
As much as possible I try to do everything artfully, I like finding harmony in things and working with that. Resonance, if you will. My home, my room, my work environment, the flowers I plant, the food I cook, the way I play an instrument.
In a sense, we are always at play with these mediums, each one of them has a meaning, a purpose, an interaction and a connectedness with its surroundings.
Visual Art & Design
Art and creative expression have been a huge part of my life since childhood.
It runs in my blood, my older brother (now a lead animator) got me started drawing as far back as I can remember. My grandfather, a skilled wood worker, was the one who noticed that unlike his approach using stencils, I had the ability to visualize form and create the things I saw in my minds eye.

By the time I graduated high school I had taken 4 years of art, spent a year learning CAD and Photoshop and had become proficient in most traditional art mediums, including graphic. I had also gained some initial experience working on branding and logo design for several bands.
Throughout and post college I continued to study and sell art, create logos, murals, designs, album covers, flyers, event posters, and advertising mainly in and around music, events, activism, small businesses, and education. Ironically, one of my first UX clients was someone I had meet at an art gala fundraiser during this time.
After moving to the Bay Area I taught Visual Arts, Graphic Arts, and Storyboarding for about 6 years for nonprofit and educational organizations.
Artistic expression is a passion that I have put a lifetime of constant focus, improvement, and development into. It is also one of the key factors that drove me to become a UX designer!
